Leland Pinder is an American journalist and news personality currently working as an evening anchor and reporter for CBS 6/WTVR-TV, Channel 6. He previously served as a co-anchor of WIS Sunrise alongside Mary King on weekdays from 4:30-7 a.m. Weekdays from 4:30 to 7 a.m.

Leland joined the CBS 6 News team in August 2021 from WIS where he had worked since October 2016 as a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and a University of North Carolina Wilmington graduate. Before going to South Carolina, Leland served as an assignment editor, reporter, and weekend anchor at Spectrum News 1 in Charlotte and Wilmington, as well as WCTI in the Greenville-New Bern market, which covered eastern North Carolina.

Following a high school internship, Leland considered careers in dentistry and teaching before deciding to pursue journalism. In college, Leland kept himself occupied as a member of the university’s male a cappella group and as a representative in student government, in addition to his studies.

When Leland is not at work, he enjoys visiting state parks and taking quick getaways to the beach or the mountains. He also enjoys reading (mostly biographies), golfing, tennis (though he is no longer as good as he once was), and listening to music. Leland has thoroughly loved his time in South Carolina and is delighted to call Columbia home.
