Lena Tillett is an American Anchor/Reporter/Host working for WRAL-TV/FOX 50 News in Raleigh, North Carolina where she serves the station as a Weekday Evening Anchor/Host. She has been working with the station since December 2020.

She is a proud graduate of Georgetown University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and English in the year 2009. Later on, she went on to join New York University where she obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Journalism(News and Documentary) in the year 2013.

Tillett works for WRAL-TV/FOX 50 News where she serves the station as a Weekday Evening Anchor/Host. Prior to taking up this position, she worked with the station as a Weekday anchor and reporter on WRAL News between August 2016 and June 2020. During this time, he was working as an early riser anchoring and reporting for the weekday morning news.
She also worked for the station as an Anchor and Reporter between June 2020 and December 2020. During this time, she was working as a co-anchor for the 9 a.m. newscast on FOX50 and the 4 p.m. newscast on WRAL-TV. Prior to WRAL-TV, she was working with WOWT-TV where she was serving the station as an Anchor/Reporter. She worked for the station between January 2014 and July 2016. Previously, she was also working as a Freelance Reporter for News 12 Networks between July 2013 and December 2013.
She has also worked with News 12 in the Bronx & Brooklyn where she was serving the station between July 2010 and May 2012. Asides from this, she has also worked with ESPN Radio & ESPN New York where she was serving the station as a production assistant. She explains that journalism is a service for her. Furthermore, she explains that it is their duty to listen, explore the truth, and provide the community with the information it needs to lead better lives.
She states that she believes a well-told story builds bridges and brings insight into worlds we otherwise would have known about. Among her memorable assignments include several trips to Ghana for his documentary thesis on an aquaponic farming business, covering the tenacity of residents willing to rebuild a small Nebraska town ravaged by two tornadoes, and President Obama’s surprise home visit in Omaha.
Asides from this, her favorite story was also about a 6-year-old girl who was wounded by a stray bullet on he sixth birthday, She explains that by seven, she was up and running again and just joyfully as ever. She explains that her story and stories like that have the power to inspire and it’s her honor to share them.
Away from work, she enjoys traveling and has been fortunate enough to visit Africa a number of times. She explains that the countries she loves visiting most were the beautiful countries of Tanzania and Burundi. Asides from traveling, she enjoys visiting museums, trying new foods, reading, and listening to live music.
Among her favorite books are non-fictional stories which she has grown to enjoy though she has always been an avid fiction reader. She explains that she cannot narrow down her favorite books. However, her three favorite authors include Zadie Smith, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Toni Morrison. Her favorite movie on the other hand is Gladiator and also loves a good revenge story. She explains that what she loves most about North Carolina is the beach, great food, kind people, and the mountains.
