Lisa Hughes is an American Award-winning anchor working for WBZ-TV as a weekday news anchor at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. Earlier, she worked for KIRO-TV in Seattle as a weekend anchor and reporter.

Hughes attended Moscow High School in 1982 where she graduated in 1986 with a diploma. She then enrolled at Washington University where she attained a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Hughes works as a weekday news anchor at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. on WBZ-TV in Boston, Massachusetts. She has been with the station for more than two decades since she joined in June 2000. During her time there, Lisa has covered a variety of news and has conducted many interviews. For her excellent work, she has been honored with numerous awards such as the 2013 George Foster Peabody Award, Columbia DuPont Award, and Emmy Award in 2016 and 2014.
She also received both the Edward R. Murrow Award and Emmy Awards for Best News Reporter. Later on, Hughes was named by Boston Magazine as one of the “Best TV Personality” and “100 Most Influential People”. Earlier, Lisa worked for KIRO-TV in Seattle where she served as a weekend anchor and reporter. Before working at KIRO-TV, she spent time working in Boise, Idaho as a reporter and anchor at KBCI-TV. Hughes began her professional career in 1991 working for KCBY-TV in Coos Bay, Oregon. She served the station for one year working as a reporter and anchor.
Apart from working as a journalist, Lisa is also an active member of various charities and community organizations. Currently, she works for Big Sister Boston serving as a board of directors. Other organizations include the Girls Clubs of Dorchester, Project 351, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester. On top of this, Hughes also helped raise funds in 2002 and 2011 where she participated in the annual Pan-Mass Challenge and Boston Marathon.
