Lisa Joyce is an American actress who is best known for her role as Frieda on Issa Rae’s award-winning show, Insecure. Joyce attended DePaul University in Chicago where she received her BFA in Acting from the Theater School.

Lisa’s other film credits include; Ricki and the Flash, Billy+Billie, The Following, Law & Order: SVU, Boardwalk Empire, The Good Wife, The Messenger, Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight, and A Master Builder. She made her West End/Broadway debut in “La Bete”, starring David Hyde Pierce, and Mark Rylance, and toured nationally, alongside Cherry Jones in the Tony Award-winning production of “Doubt”.

Some of Lisa’s favorite off-Broadway credits include Soho Rep.’s “The Ugly One” and Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron’s beloved production of “Love, Loss and What I Wore”, for which she earned a Drama Desk nomination.  She has also appeared in productions at The Public, New York Theater Workshop, StageFARM, The Signature, Rattlestick, Classic Stage Company, Transport Group, Williamstown, and The Studio Theater in D.C., where for her role in “Blackbird” she received a Helen Hayes Award. In 2005, Lisa was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for Actress in a Supporting Role in a Play for “Red Light Winter.”
