She thus began her television career at WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she worked as a news anchor for 8 years before returning to Toledo. When she returned to Toledo, she served WNWO as the morning anchor and was later promoted to main anchor.
In 2001, she managed a year-long special project for The City of Toledo called “It’s Reigning Frogs.” Upon the project’s completion, she worked at the University of Findlay as the director of equine business development. There, she raised money and endorsed their national championship equestrian programs.
Guyton competes with her horse at shows around the area. In 2004 and 2005, they competed at the national finals horse shows in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C. In those years, they ranked in the top ten in the United States in the divisions they competed in. Guyton works as a member of the board of directors of five local charities including the American Cancer Society and YMCA Camp Storer.
