De Lesseps previously worked as a  licensed practical nurse in Connecticut and as a model for Wilhelmina. In February 2011, she made an appearance in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit‘s episode, “Bully.” In the film, she played the role of as a socialite who discovers something grisly.

De Lesseps authored the book, Class with the Countess: How to Live with Elegance and Flair, which was released on April 16, 2009. In February 2017, she appeared in Maternal Secrets. In May of the same year, she appeared in the celebrity ridicule of Michael Musto. The following year, she advertised her cabaret called CountessAndFriends at Feinstein’s/54 Below in Midtown Manhattan in February. De Lesseps was apprehended in Palm Beach, Florida in December 2017 for unruly intoxication, opposing arrest, battery of an officer, and threatening a public servant. Later, she was released on her pledge but was arrested with a third-degree felony on January 25, 2018. After she was released, she entered an alcohol treatment program.

In July 2018, she pleaded guilty to the misconduct charges of battery, unruly intoxication, and trespassing to settle her Palm Beach arrest. After, the felony accusation of opposing an officer with roughness was dismissed. Further, she agreed to do 50 hours of community service, refrain from drinking alcohol for one year, and attend two Alcoholics Anonymous.
