Lynda Baquero is an American Emmy Award-winning Journalist working as a Reporter/Anchor at NBC 4 New York. She joined the station in October 1995. There, she is in the “Better Bet Baquero” segment that resolves consumer complaints and provides updates on the latest consumer alerts. “Better Bet Baquero” can be seen from Monday to Friday during the 4 pm and 5 pm newscasts. She is a recipient of a 1998 local Emmy Award for “Religious Programming” for her coverage of the Pope’s visit to Cuba. Prior to working at NBC 4 New York, she worked at NY1 News as an anchor/reporter from June 1992 to October 1995. There, she was a pioneering videojournalist and News Anchor at Time Warner’s NY1 News. In addition, she was responsible for shooting, writing, and producing breaking news reports, feature stories, and consumer news.
From September 1987 to June 1992, she was an Associate Producer at WCBS-TV. There, she was a researcher, planning editor, assignment desk editor, and associate producer at CBS’ flagship station in New York. Moreover, she was responsible for covering breaking news and was an associate Producer of the daily consumer action segment, “Troubleshooter”. Prior to that, she was an Associate Producer at WCAU-TV from January 1987 to September 1987. There, she was an associate producer and researcher for a bilingual talk show. From June 1984 to December 1986, she worked for WNJU-TV as an Associate Producer. During her stint there, she was a production assistant and later Associate Producer at Spanish-language WNJU, produced live shows on New Year’s Eve from Times Square, and traveled to Spain and Mexico for original on-location productions.
