Madelyn Cooper Biography
Madelyn Cooper is an American journalist working for WJCL as a multimedia journalist and producer since joining the station in July 2025. Previously, she worked as an anchor and reporter at Carolina News.
Madelyn Cooper Education
Cooper joined the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications (Go Gamecocks!) in May 2023 after finishing her high school education. In May 2025, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in Entrepreneurship.
While in college, Cooper contributed to The Daily Gamecock News Section and Student Gamecock Television. She was also involved with the Alpha Delta Pi Beta Epsilon, UofSC Delight Ministries Club, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and A Faith Revelation Ladies Bible Study. Moreover, she was an anchor, reporter, and producer at Carolina News, where she covered various stories from national to local community-based pieces.

Cooper worked for WJCL as a multimedia journalist and producer. In this role, she reports for the morning news from 4:30 to 7 a.m., Wednesday through Friday. In addition, she produces the weekend morning newscasts. She is devoted to bringing the news to Savannah, maintaining the belief that everyone has a story worth telling and a voice that deserves to be heard.
Before her time at WJCL, Cooper was a College Associate for a national news corporation in New York City. In this capacity, she produced segments for a 6o-minute show and shadowed reporters. This opportunity helped her refine her skills and ability to broadcast national stories.
