Maggie Grace is an American actress best known for starring as Shannon Rutherford in ABC’s Lost from 2004 to 2006, Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy from 2008 to 2014, Irina in The Twilight Saga from 2011 to 2012, and Althea Szewczyk-Przygocki in Fear the Walking Dead from 2018 to 2021. In 2002, she won a Young Artist Award nomination for her portrayal of Martha Moxley in Murder in Greenwich.

Grace briefly attended Worthington Christian Schools from kindergarten to ninth grade. Then, she joined Thomas Worthington High School, where she started acting in community theatre and school plays. For instance, she appeared in a 2000 Gallery Players production of The Crucible at a local Jewish Community Center.

Grace got an agent in the span of a week of moving to Los Angeles. She also joined acting classes. She secured her first role in 2001, appearing in Rachel’s Room. The following year, she appeared in Septuplets, which was later canceled after the first episode was telecast. She received the script for the pilot episode of Lost in mid-2004 after securing the role of Shannon Rutherford after a successful audition. The following year, she won a Teen Choice Choice TV Breakout Performance – Female Award for her performance in the film.

Grace lived in Hawaii during the filming of Lost‘s 1st season. She also signed to star opposite Tom Welling in The Fog. She had to fly between the two sets, on the Hawaiian island of Oahu and on Bowen Island in British Columbia due to scheduling conflicts with filming The Fog and Lost‘s extended season finale.

Grace returned to Lost‘s 2nd SN after being ranked #27 on Maxim’s Hot 100 list in 2005. After leaving the series, she went onstage at the 12th Screen Actors Guild Awards alongside the other principal Lost cast members of SN 2. In May 2005, Variety shared that she was negotiating to star as Kitty Pryde in X-Men: The Last Stand. However, there were auditions for her replacement in July.

2007 to present;

In 2007, Grace starred in Suburban Girl with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alec Baldwin. That same year, she appeared in The Jane Austen Book Club as Allegra. A Jane Austen fan, she was geeked out when she met the director Robin Swicord after receiving the film’s script. After filming the movie, she temporarily returned to Hawaii where she shot a guest role in the Lost SN 3 episode, Exposé.

In 2008, Grace appeared in Taken opposite Liam Neeson. The following year, she starred in Malice in Wonderland. In 2010, she appeared in Flying Lessons, Knight and Day, and Faster. Despite her busy schedule, she returned to film Lost’s series finale The End. A September 2010 announcement revealed that she would play the role of Irina in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2. In December 2012, she made her Broadway debut on December 14, 2012, in Picnic, at the American Airlines Theatre.

Grace played a guest role in Showtime’s Californication in January 2013, where she portrayed a groupie and muse to the rock and roll world as well as the personal interest of Hank Moody. In 2018, she joined the cast of  Fear the Walking Dead as Althea.
