Prior to joining NBC 4 New York, he worked for WDIV-TV for 15 years and 6 months. At the station, he had two roles, first, as a General and Investigative reporter from 1997 to 2012, and second as a News Reporter from June 1998 to June 2012. At the station, he began his career as an intern and then as a producer working on specialized segments while also constructing stories for the newscasts. Later he earned an Emmy Award for journalistic excellence. At the station, he covered the investigation, arrest, trial, and sentencing of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
