Schanowski is a Chicago sports broadcasting veteran who joined NBC Sports Chicago in 2006 as a primary co-anchor on SportsNet Central, along with hosting the network’s Bulls studio coverage on Bulls Pregame Live and Bulls Postgame Live.

He is also the host of several Bears-related programs during the NFL season including Bears Recap, Bear Huddle, and Bears Blitz. He came to NBCS from NBC 5 in Chicago, where he served as sports anchor since August 1998. At NBC 5, Schanowski also anchored “NBC 5 Sports Sunday” and hosted the network’s pre- and postgame coverage for its Chicago Bears preseason telecasts.

Before joining NBC5, he anchored/produced weekend sportscasts and was a weekday general assignment sports reporter at ABC 7 in Chicago from 1990-98.
