Marvin Bartlett is a well-reputed American Emmy Award-winning journalist working for FOX 56 as a Broadcast Journalist. He joined FOX 56 in December 1994. He has over three decades of broadcasting experience and is well-known for producing “The Spirit of the Bluegrass”, a weekly segment featuring unique people and places in Kentucky.

Since his joining, he has won three regional Emmys for news writing and reporting. In addition to anchoring, he is the managing editor for FOX 56 News and the producer/reporter of the weekly feature segment, “Spirit of the Bluegrass”. Prior to joining FOX 56, he worked for WLEX-TV as an Anchor/Reporter from November 1987 to December 1994. There, he worked his way up from videographer/reporter to weekend anchor and then morning anchor.
Prior to that, he worked as a News Reporter at WCHS-TV from February 1985 to November 1987. There, he served as the Eastern Kentucky Bureau Chief in Charleston, West Virginia. In addition to his broadcasting career, he has taught at the University of Kentucky School of Journalism and has been an adjunct professor at Florida A&M University. He wrote “The Joy Cart”, in 2002 a book about an inspirational young cancer patient he met while on the job. In 2009, an updated version of the book, “The Boy Who Delivered Joy” was published.
