Mathew Shea Biography

Mathew Shea is an American TV personality and Chef who is best known for starring on Below Deck Mediterranean which premiered on Monday, June 28 at 9/8c on Bravo.

By the age of 12, Shea knew he wanted to be a Chef. His passion for cuisine and food preparation was nurtured from an early age by his mom’s macrobiotic cooking school. His first experience in the galley started when he went on tour with Greenpeace, where he got a job as an assistant to a classically-trained French Chef who became his mentor.

Shea realized he could pursue a career in the yachting industry and continue to cook and travel while crossing the ocean from port to port. He has cooked for an extensive list of the top one-percenters of the world such as Rupert Murdoch, and Hugh Jackman. In season 6 of Below Deck Mediterranean, Shea brings his experience and passion to the galley while taking on some of the most demanding charter guests and a few unexpected challenges.
