Matt Belanger is an American Anchor working with KSTP News where he serves the station as a Morning Anchor for the 4:30 AM News on 5 Eyewitness News and 45-TV. There, he anchors three hours of news every weekday.

Belanger works with KSBT 5 Eyewitness News and 45-TV where he serves the station as a Morning Anchor. He states that being a journalist, he understands that it is his duty to hold the powerful accountable and to give to the voiceless. Mat has been working with the KSTP News team since the year 2016 when he made a trip north from Atlanta.

Prior to working with KSTP, he worked in his home state of Pennsylvania as a television journalist. He kick-started his television career working with KELO-TV in Sioux Falls. Belanger is a six-time regional Emmy award winner.  Through his investigative reporting, he has brought light to many important issues over the years and has even resulted in laws being changed.

The year 2020 saw him being awarded an Emmy for the best anchor in the Twin Cities which include his coverage of the unrest after the murder of George Floyd. Matt is a proud graduate of Elon University in North Carolina where he studied communications and political science.

Away from work, he enjoys spending time at the gym and taking care of the yard around his home where he lives with his partner in Minneapolis. Asides from that, he also enjoys spending time with his two Corgis Fischer and Finlee.
