Matt Mackie is an American meteorologist working for NEWS10 ABC as a weekend morning meteorologist. He joined the station in June 2019. Previously, he worked for WGXA in Macon, Georgia as a meteorologist for 2 years.

Mackie joined Florida State University in 2014 when he finished his high school education. In 2017, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Meteorology. During his time in college, he worked for FSU Weather, a student-produced cable TV weather program, as a producer and forecaster. In 2016, he encountered the ruinous power of tropical weather when Hurricane Hermine passed over Tallahassee. Additionally, he studied at the university’s study center in Valencia, Spain for a year.

After graduating college, Mackie relocated to Macon, Georgia where he worked for WGXA as a meteorologist and reporter. While in Macon, he was on air during Hurricane Irma in 2017. He provided broadcasts of Hurricane Michael in 2018 for WGXA’s station in Albany, Georgia. At the time, the winds of the hurricane took them off the air.
Aside from meteorology Macjie has broadcasted everything as a reporter including breaking news, storm ruin, and city council meetings. Moreover, he has dabbled in investigative reporting which helped Alabama students locate a weather balloon that went missing over Georgia.
