Matt Prichard Biography

Matt Prichard is an American Anchor/Reporter working with KUSI-TV in San Diego, California, where he serves the station as a Weekend Anchor since August 2021. Prior to KUSI-TV, he was working with Hearst Television where he was serving the station as a National Correspondent in Washington D.C. Metro Area.

Matt Prichard Education

Prichard attended Aliso Niguel High School where he studied between 2014 and 2018 and obtained his high school diploma. There, he was a part of the Water Polo Team, Swim Team, and Morning Howl News. From there, he went on to join Orange Coast College where he studied between 2008 and 2010.

There, he obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in Television Broadcast Journalism. He is a proud graduate of Chapman University where he obtained a bachelor’s Degree in Television Broadcast Journalism. There, he studied between 2010 and 2012 and was part of Chapman Radio and Chapman News.

Prichard works with KUSI-TV where he serves the station as a Weekend Anchor. His roles in the station include anchoring the weekend evening news and reporting during the week. He states that he is happy to be back in Southern California after nine years on the road.

In his entire career, he has worked in many interesting places which include Colorado, Georgia, and Washington, D.C. While in the nation’s capital, he covered politics for over 30 television stations across the country. He has also had the opportunity to report from the White House, Supreme Court, and Capitol Hill.

Previously, he was also working with KOAA5 in Colorado Springs, Colorado Area. He left the station work as a Weekend Sports Anchor. He held this role between January 2016 and June 2018. During that time, his roles included anchoring the weekend sportscast, sports reporting on weekdays, and news reporting when necessary.

He has also served the station as an Anchor/Reporter between November 2013 and June 2018. During this time, he was also serving the station as a Multimedia Journalist. Prior to this, he was also working with WFXL Fox 31 TV in Albany, Georgia Area. There, he served the station as an Anchor/Reporter between May 2012 and October 2013. There, he was serving the station as a Primetime Anchor and Multimedia Journalist.

He was raised just North of San Diego in Orange County and spent most days playing water polo, lifeguarding at Crystal Cove State Park, and swimming. Prichard is a huge Angels and Ducks fan but is excited to add the Padres and Gulls to his list of teams to root for.
