Roy joined College of the Desert in 2014 when he finished his high school education. In 2016, he received his Associate Of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies. Next, he joined Fort Lewis College where he received a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and Multimedia Studies in 2018.
At Fort Lewis College, he served as a scholarship football player. In August 2018, he joined Arizona State’s Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Sports Journalism in December 2019.
