Matt Yallof Biography

Matt Yallof is a famous American sports commentator for MLB Network and NHL Network, debuting on June 3, 2009. He hosts the regular season studio show ”The Rundown” and MLB Network Strike Zone. Additionally, Matt appears on ”MLB Tonight” and Quick Pitch”.

Matt Yallof Education

Yallof attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he graduated. He previously graduated from a local high school in his hometown.

Yallof started his profession working at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York, CNN and CNN/SI. He went on to work at Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, where he earned four regional Emmy awards. After that, he went on to work as the lead host of the New York Mets pre-and post-game show and also as a fill-in host for ‘The WheelHouse and Geico SportsNite on SportsNet New York.

Matt then joined MLB Network and NHL Network on June 3, 2009, as a sports commentator. He hosts the regular season studio show ”The Rundown” and MLB Network Strike Zone. Matt also appears on ”MLB Tonight” and Quick Pitch”. He suffered an Ischemic Stroke at his home in Armonk, New York on July 29, 2016. Matt spent a week in the ICU and then a month in a rehab clinic, where he had to undergo physical occupational, and speech therapy. A few days following his stroke, 2 of his wife’s friends set up a YouCaring page to assist him with medical expenses, which was quickly passed around social media and the page has raised $69, 192 to assist with the medical expenses.

In April 2017, Matt made his first appearance back on MBL Network, hosting MLB Network Strike Zone every Tuesday and Friday, which he will carry on doing until further notice.
