Maurielle Lue is an American Emmy Award-Winning reporter, Anchor, and host working for FOX2 Detroit. She is also the host of Fox 2’s popular show ‘The Nine’ as well as ‘Let it Rip- weekend’.

Lue serves as the morning anchor on the FOX 2 News Team and also hosts The Nine. She came to FOX2 from WEWS, the ABC Affiliate, in Cleveland Ohio where she served as a reporter, anchor, general assignment reporter, and breaking news reporter. While here, she enclosed on the front lines of Imperial Avenue – the home known as “Cleveland Strangler.”
“Cleveland Strangler” was a man who was convicted of killing and hiding bodies inside his home. In addition to that, she also enclosed the departure of LeBron James in Cleveland. Prior to her term at WEWS, she was working for ESPN where she served as a reporter. While at ESPN, she covered several events that hit the headlines.
Lue began her journalism career before she graduated from high school. She landed her very first on-air job while she was 15 years old and was serving as a reporter and anchor for Brookwood Upclose. In this role, she syndicated series majoring on local stories and events impacting Atlanta’s youth. She received her first journalism award for a documentary she did on a local shelter for troubled youth.
Lue is also an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists as well as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She went to Hampton University’s Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communication where she graduated with honors. Right after college, she landed a real TV job at WVVA where she served as the weekday reporter and weekend anchor, reporter, and producer.
Since she started her journalism career, she has managed to interview several well-known celebrities and politicians including Dr.Phil. She also interviewed Homer Hickam who was an inspiration for the 1999 film, “October Sky” and a former engineer. Furthermore, she also reported on the Virginia Tech massacre, delivering live reports for WVVA and MSNBC.
