Amram attended Catlin Gabel School and Harvard University where she graduated in 2010. While at Harvard, she wrote two of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals’ comedy drag shows.
Previously, she was a writer on the acclaimed Amazon series Transparent, the final three seasons of the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation, and HBO’s Silicon Valley.
Amram’s other past credits include writing for Adult Swim’s Childrens Hospital, Comedy Central’s Kroll Show, Fox’s The Simpsons, the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, the 90th and 83rd Annual Academy Awards, the Disney Channel and contributing to Funny Or Die and Comedy Central’s Celebrity Roasts.
Her writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Vulture, McSweeney’s, Vice Magazine and The Awl, among other.
Along with her writing career, Amram has occasionally ventured into acting, with a 2011 appearance on RuPaul’s Drag U and more recently with her Emmy-nominated 2018 web series An Emmy for Megan.
She appeared on The CW musical comedy series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in an episode titled “I Need Some Balance” in January 2019.
