Melissa Frey is an American meteorologist working for KTUU as the chief meteorologist since joining the station in August 2020. Previously, she worked for KTVA 11 News for more than 4 years.

Frey joined Whitworth University in 2000 when she finished her high school education. In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Communications, Media Studies, and Environmental Studies. During her time in college, she studied journalism, communication, public speaking, calculus, physics, and earth science. Also, she worked as a host of a weekly radio program.
Frey then joined Oregon State University where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences in 2007. While pursuing her Master’s degree, she taught undergraduate classes on meteorology and researched atmospheric flow patterns.
