After graduating from college and a short stint as a disc jockey, she got her first radio news job at an all-news startup in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. When the station went off the air within 6 months, she returned to Ohio and joined WEOL. She then worked for WNWV in Elyria, near Cleveland, and spent several years at Cleveland’s WWWE(now WTAM).
Basch came to Washington in 1999 because of a job position at WMAL. The following year, she took a position with Metro Networks and KABC in Los Angeles, California, before eventually returning to WMAL. A job opening at WTOP came knocking in 2006, and she has been here ever since.
