Michelle Buteau is an American stand-up comedian, actress, and podcast host who is best known for appearing on Always Be My Maybe, Someone Great, and Sell By. Also, in Isn’t It Romantic.

Michelle Buteau Career

Buteau began performing comedy a few days after September 11, 2001. After five years of doing a stand-up comedian, she landed her first television spot on Comedy Central. In 2017, Esquire Magazine listed her as one of ten comedians to watch. In 2018, she started hosting Late Night Whenever! podcast, which was labeled by Time Magazine as “one of the best podcasts of 2018 so far.” She was also part of The Comedy Lineup on Netflix where up-and-coming comedians have 15-minute stand-up sets.

In 2019, Buteau appears in the movies: Isn’t It Romantic, Someone Great, Sell By, and Always Be My Maybe. She as well started hosting the WNYC podcast, Adulting, with co-host Jordan Carlos. That same year, she appeared in two television series: Tales of the City and First Wives Club. When coming to her education, Buteau attended college at Florida International University and was considering a career in journalism before moving into comedy.
