Mike Lyons is an American retired meteorologist known for having worked at WPBF 25 First Warning Weather as the chief meteorologist. He joined WPBF 25 in 1991 and retired in December 2022. He announced his retirement on December 12, 2022, and his last day on the station was on December 23.

Lyons serves as the chief meteorologist at WPBF 25 and forecasts weekdays on WPBF 25 News at 5 and 11 p.m. He encloses both Live, Local, and Late-Breaking keeping viewers informed minute-by-minute. Ever since he joined the station, he has managed to enclose a ton of major weather events including the “storm of the century” in 1993, Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Hurricane Floyd in 1999, Hurricane Jeanne, Frances, and Wilma during the 2004 and 2005 seasons, Irma in 2017, and Matthew in 2016.

Lyons has also managed to win several awards including special honors from the Governor’s Hurricane Conference, the National Hurricane Conference, and Broadcaster of the Year from the National Weather Association. When not busy working, he enjoys spending some time informing viewers and other community members about the power of severe weather and how to prepare for it. He also enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.
