Mimi Elkalla is an American reporter working at ABC 10 News. She joined the ABC 10 News morning team in the fall of 2016. She was previously working as a reporter and weekend anchor at KBAK and KBFX, the CBS and FOX affiliates in her hometown of Bakersfield, California.

Elkalla is currently working at ABC 10 News where she has been serving as a morning reporter since 2016 when she joined the station.  In the course of her time at KBAK and KBFX, she reported many stories in Kern County including investigations, breaking news, devastating wildfires, and crime. She found it especially rewarding to be able to share the stories of those in her community and make unforgettable connections with amazing people.

Prior to going back home, to Bakersfield, she spent four years in Fresno. Elkalla attained her degree in Mass Communication and Journalism, with an emphasis on Broadcast Journalism at California State University, Fresno. When she was in Fresno, she got an internship at the local NBC affiliate KSEE 24. She all the time had a love and passion for journalism but as an intern, she was able to see firsthand the amazing and exciting fast-paced side of TV News which made her love for it grow even more. During her leisure, she loves meeting new people, hanging out by the beach, trying out the wide range of restaurants around town, and exploring all the amazing sights in San Diego.
