Molly Shen Biography

Molly Shen is an American Emmy Award-Winning journalist working for KOMO as an anchor. She joined the network in 1997.

Molly Shen Career

Shen anchors KOMO4 News every weekday at 11 AM and at 5 PM. Prior to KOMO, she had spent several years working in Spokane as a reporter and anchor. She has won several Emmy Awards for her exquisite reporting and anchoring and was also selected to be the Journalist of the Month by the Women’s e-news in May 2005. This was due to the work she offered her community of raising awareness and educating people on the importance of free counseling services for sexual assault victims. She attained her Bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri Journalism School.

Shen not only gave out her time but also her efforts as a host for several community groups including Seattle Children’s, LifeWire (formerly Eastside Domestic Violence Program), and Harborview Medical Center.  She also managed to be on the Honorary Board for Harborview’s Children’s Response Center. The center focuses on supporting children who are victims of trauma and sexual assault. She was also a member of the Board of Directors for Starlight Children’s Foundation, where she supported sick children and their families.
