For broadcasting the Port Orchard tornado in 2018, she secured her first nomination for an Emmy award.
During her career, she has broadcasted big events like the 2020 mass shooting in downtown Seattle, the Antonio Zambrano officer shooting, and the harsh wildfire seasons in Washington state. Also, she broadcasted the take-cover order at the Hanford Nuclear Site in 2018.
Ashley realized her passion for journalism when she enrolled in the high school newspaper and broadcasting classes. Moreover, she debuted on TV when she appeared on the American Teen Television Network during the local live entertainment show in Gresham, Oregon at the age of 14. She loves all components of journalism, discovering important details, and forming a connection with the community.
Aside from journalism, Ashley recently worked for a big medical center in Bellevue, Washington as the public information officer. While there, she oversaw the hospital’s retort to the COVID-19 pandemic, as they attended to the first people who contracted COVID-19 in the state. Also, she served as the head of the PR/communications team spearheading them to win awards from Aster, PR Daily, and Healthcare Advertising.
