Nolan Knight Biography
Nolan Knight is an American Sports Anchor working for WAAY-TV serving as a sports director. He joined the station in August 2021, after previously working as a weekend sports anchor at WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina.

After graduating from high school, Nloan went on to join Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2014 where he attained a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2018. While there, he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi and worked as a sports reporter at Collegiate Times.

Knight works as a sports director at WAAY-TV in Huntsville, Alabama. He has been with the station for more than two years since he joined in August 2021. Earlier, he served as a weekend sports anchor at WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. He served the station for two years and two months from July 2019 to August 2021. Prior to joining WNCT-TV, Nolan worked for WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, West Virginia where he served as a weekend sports anchor.
Nolan previously served as a sports anchor at WVVA-TV in Bluefield from February 2018 to May 2018. Before coming from WVVA-TV, he spent three years working at IMG College where he served as a broadcast associate from March 2015 to May 2018. He also served as a Play by Play voice for ESPN 3 broadcasts and ACC Network. On top of this, Knight was also in charge of conducting interviews with players and hosted a weekly show called “Tech Talk Live”.
Earlier, he served as a voice director of media relations at Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League. While there, Nolan supervised social media accounts, wrote stories, and traveled with the team to various places. He started his career at WUVT 90.7 working as a sports radio presenter from September 2014 to May 2018.
Before working at WUVT-TV, Knight worked at Radford University where he served as a broadcast associate from April 2016 to May 2017. Aside from working as a journalist, Nolan worked as a Voice of the Petersburg Generals of the Coastal Plains League from April 2016 to August 2016. He also served as a play-by-play for all home broadcasts and wrote recap postgame for the station.
