Patricia Heaton is an American Emmy award-winning actress, author, and comedian. She is known for playing the lead character and Ray Barone’s wife Debra Barone on the CBS television sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond.

Heaton has English, German, and Irish ancestry. Her sister Sharon Heaton is a Dominican nun while her brother and father were writers for the local Cleveland newspaper, The Cleveland Plain Dealer. When she was 12 years of age, her mother passed away from an aneurysm.
