Cunningham graduated from Bishop Gorman Catholic High School in 2014 where he served as the head captain of the track team and participated in various games such as basketball and football. After high school, he enrolled at Texas University where he attained a bachelor’s degree in Media studies and Mass Communication in 2018. He also wrote recaps games and conducted interviews with coaches and players. On top of this, Cunningham also covered several postseason games including the national championships in 2018 and 2016.
