Peter Barnes is an American correspondent, anchor, and reporter who previously worked for FOX News. He joined the station in October 2007.

Barnes serves as a senior Washington correspondent for the Fox Business Network. Prior to this role, he previously worked for FBN’s morning program, Money for Breakfast where she served as a co-anchor. He went to Pennsylvania State University where he attained his Bachelor of Arts in political science. In addition to this, he also holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Barnes previously worked for the television group Hearst-Argyle where he served as a correspondent and Washington, D.C. bureau chief. In addition to this, he also spent some time working for several business programming outlets, including TechTV where he served as the Washington bureau chief for the satellite channel, which specialized in technology coverage from 2001 to 2003.

Furthermore, he spent five years working for CNBC serving as a Washington correspondent and anchor from 1993 to 1998. During his time at the station, he was awarded a CableACE Award while at CNBC for a special series on retirement.

Prior to this role, he worked for WCAU-TV, the CBS-owned station in Philadelphia where he served as a correspondent. He also worked for KTTV-TV’s Fox 11 News in Los Angeles where he served as a news reporter. Before his time on Fox 11 News, he worked for The Charlotte Observer and The Wall Street Journal where he served as a staff reporter.
