Peter Maxwell is an American journalist working for WXYZ as a news reporter. He joined the station in August 2021. Previously, he worked for KHQ in Spokane as an anchor and news reporter.

Maxwell attended Lake Forest College after completing his high school education. Later, he transferred to Curry College in Milton. While in Milton, he studied Broadcast Journalism. During his senior year, he obtained the Television Student of the Year award from the College’s communication department. Further, he holds a Master’s degree in Communications and Media Studies from Lynn University in Boca Raton.

Maxwell worked for MSNBC as a booking and producing intern during the 2012 presidential Election. In 2013, he served NBC’s Kerry Sanders as an associate producer during the Boston Marathon Bombing. After graduating from Curry College, he served Fox News Channel in New York City as an overnight desk assistant. During his time there, he broke multiple big National and International stories.

Maxwell served Red Alert Politics/Washington Examiner and for The College Fix during his time at graduate school. While there, he broadcasted politics and higher education matters surrounding free speech. His work has earned features on NBC News, New York Post, Daily Mail, Fox News, and the Washington Post.

His father passed away in 2020 as evidenced by his Instagram post on February 6, 2022, where he posted a picture of his father and captioned it “I miss you so much everyday. I can’t believe it’s been two years…” On July 30, 2022, he wished his father a happy heavenly 77th birthday.
