He is the Founder & Principal of PDM Consulting. Preston was the first openly LGBTQ Chair of the Washington Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. In 2021, he was voted D.C’s Most Committed Activist by Washington Blade readers and in 2022 he was the runner-up. Before joining Advocates, he served as the senior policy analyst at the Centre for Health and Gender Equality (CHANGE). There, he provided in-depth analysis of new data, policies, and programs across SRHR-including HIV and AIDS, maternal health, family planning, and gender-based violence.

In addition, he was a judicial law clerk at the D.C. Superior Court to the Honorable S. Pamela Gray and the Honorable Errol R. Arthur and was a Policy Analyst at the Centre for American Progress (CAP).
