Raphael Miranda Biography
Raphael Miranda is a well-reputed American Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist and weather producer at NBC 4 New York. He joined NBC 4 New York in October 2007. Since 2009, he serves as the weatherman for Weekend Today in New York, a primary fill-in meteorologist for the weekday newscast, and serves as the host of the Megaphone Interactive Trivia of Saturday Today in New York.
He is a member of the American Meteorological Society. He holds the National Weather Association Seal of Approval. Also, he is a member of The National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association as well as the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. In addition, he is an active supporter of the LGBT organization “Live Out Loud” among with others.

From 1997 to 2000, he attended New York University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature. Since January 2009, he has been working as a weatherman for Weekend Today in New York. His 2012 coverage of Superstorm Sandy earned him his second Emmy. He received his first Emmy one year earlier for coverage of Hurricane Irene. During his time at NBC 4 New York, he has experienced and forecasted many extreme weather conditions such as February 2010 when New York City received more than three feet of snow in one month, surpassing the previous February snow total record.
Also, he covered the 2011 Halloween snowstorm which left thousands in the Tri-state without power as well as the Blizzard of 2016 which set a record for one-day snowfall in Central Park. For less than a year in 2007, he worked for News 12 Networks as a Fill-in Meteorologist. He regularly appears on MSNBC and has also appeared on The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Early TODAY, Weekend Today, and CNBC World. Also, he has appeared on Telemundo 47 delivering weather forecasts in Spanish.
