In addition, he joined the Global News based in Washington D.C. team in February 2015 as a producer and editor before becoming a correspondent in 2017 for Global News and Global National.

He has also covered two presidential elections, a number of state primaries, and the fast-paced changes that occurred throughout the four years of the Trump Administration. In addition, he has made regularly appears as a guest on Global News Radio stations across the country, where he discussed the latest news from the United States.

Previously, he worked at Global News Radio 640 Toronto where he served as an anchor and reporter. He has also worked at radio stations in Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Hamilton, and Toronto. While he was in Niagara Falls, he was able to secure his first radio job while he was still in high school.

In January 2006, he worked at The Canadian Traffic Network in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he served as a helicopter traffic reporter till April 2008. Later on, he joined Astral Media in Hamilton, he served as a news anchor and content producer for a period of six months. In addition, he has also served as an afternoon news anchor at Corus Entertainment. He also served as a midday and evening anchor of the weekend newscast.

Furthermore, he has also worked at Rogers Media and while he was at the station, he served as a freelance anchor and reporter till June 2019. Cecchini attended Humber College where he graduated with a diploma in broadcasting. Thorold, Ontario is his native home and during his downtime, he enjoys craft beer, cooking, and traveling.
