During his career, he has received awards for his broadcast work including an Edward R. Murrow award, an Emmy, and multiple national honors. In 2022, the National Association of Native American Journalists granted him the 2022 First Place Covering Native America Award. He won the award for his report “Removing the Sacagawea Statue ” in Charlottesville.
His career highlights include his broadcast of 9/11 at the Pentagon, the surrender of a murder suspect to him, and the first to break the news about the Sniper shooting in Ashland. Aside from his broadcasting career, he has worked as a reporter in multiple major motion pictures and TV shows filmed in Virginia including Mickey, The American President, Hannibal, Commander-in-Chief, Mindhunter SN 2, and Netflix’s Stranger Things Sn 2. Also, he works as a narrator of documentaries and government and corporate video presentations.
