Kupec works with KVRR-TV where he serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist. There, he gives the most accurate forecast for eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. He is a proud graduate of the University at Albany, SUNY. Kupec joined the University in the year 1987. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology in 1992.
Prior to joining KVRR-TV, he was working with WDAY/WDAZ in Fargo, North Dakota Area where he was serving the station as a Meteorologist/Reporter. There, he served between August 2002 and January 2013. While there, he first served the station as a fill-in weather presenter, then a weekend weather presenter.
