Rob Powers is an American 4x Emmy Award-winning Anchor and Multimedia Journalist working for WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio as an evening news co-anchor. He joined the station in August 2016.

Powers attended Holy Name High School located in the city of Parma Heights, Ohio. He continued his education at higher learning institutions namely the Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan for further studies. Powers currently works as a news anchor at WEWS-TV, an ABC Affiliate affiliated in Cleveland, Ohio. He was made a co-anchor of WEWS’s evening newscasts in August last year October 2015. Powers began his journalistic career as an intern in the sports department at WEWS in the late 1980s. Before WEWS, Powers was the weekday evening and Saturday morning sportscaster with WABC-TV in New York City.
Furthermore, he worked as the sports director at WTVG a local ABC affiliate in Toledo, and also as the 5:30 p.m. newscaster. Additionally, he enjoyed the play-by-play announcer position for the University of Toledo football and basketball and Toledo Mud Hens, the minor league Baseball club. Before coming to Toledo Powers earned four Emmy Awards. At WEWS, he has continued to post better results by winning more Lower Great Lakes Emmy Awards spanning various categories.
Powers’ commitment is not exclusive to the newsroom, which signifies independence. He shares news reports concerning the veterans and first responders, a group of people that he appreciates due to their efforts in society. He indeed has been dedicated to service to his community implying that he is a voice of the people of Cleveland.
