Robert previously worked for ABC7 News as a fill-in anchor and reporter from May 2006 to August 2015. During his career at ABC7 News, he covered major breaking news including the destruction left behind by Superstorm Sandy, celebrity scandals, and the campus massacre at Virginia Tech. He also reported high-profile news including the subsequent trial of Jackson’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, the death of Michael Jackson, and several wildfires.
Before working for ABC7 News, Holguin worked for KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas where he served as an anchor. While there, he reported national stories including the impeachment of President Clinton, and appeared as a guest on USA Today in Washington, D.C. In addition to that, he also worked for El Paso Times, where he covered extensive reports mainly focusing on unsolved murders of hundreds of women in Ciudad Juarez and the Mexican drug trade.
Roberts began his broadcasting career at the Associated Press in Seattle where he served as a reporter. His recognised increased in the 1990s when his articles about the burgeoning music scene were featured across the globe in newspapers. On top of this, he was also the first to report the Nirvana frontman committed suicide and pro sports events.
