Sheehan developed an interest in acting while he was in primary school when he played Oliver in Oliver with a Twist. At 14, he won the audition for Song for a Raggy Boy, spending three months in Cork to film. Following his departure from the series, his character’s ubiquitous blue hoodie was donated to the Dunamaise Theater in Portlaoise. In 2011, Sheehan starred as Kay in Season of the Witch opposite Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman. Sheehan starred as Richard III in Trevor Nunn’s revival of The Wars of the Roses in late 2015. Further, he won the Burke Medal for Contribution to Discourse Through The Arts from the College Historical Society in Trinity College Dublin in October 2015. He starred in Geostorm in 2017 and in the second season of Fortitude. His performance in Fortitude won him a nomination for an Irish Film and Television Award.
