Ron Corning Biography
Ron Corning is an American television host who most recently worked at the ABC affiliate WFAA in Dallas, Texas. Corning co-anchored the station’s morning newscast, Daybreak, and was solo anchor of Midday, the station’s one-hour noon newscast.
Raised in Calais, Maine, Corning attended Wheaton College in Massachusetts where he graduated in 1993 with a B.A. in history and religion.

On August 28, 2006, he joined Jodi Applegate as co-anchor of Good Day New York at the flagship FOX owned affiliate WNYW. When he was on vacation in April 2008, his contract was not renewed to make room for Fox News Channel correspondent Greg Kelly.

In August 13, 2017, WFAA “Daybreak” anchor Ron Corning suffered a fractured left kneecap in a fall in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He said on his Facebook page “I wiped out on a slippery concrete deck and came down squarely on my left knee.” He was there on a house tour.
Acquaintances called 911 and Corning was taken to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe. He was in surgery for three hours and he has a full-length straight-leg cast that he must wear for six weeks.
