Ron Jones is an American Reporter/Anchor working with 11Alive News in Atlanta, Georgia where he serves the station as a Reporter/Evening News Anchor. He has been working with the station since the month of November 2016.

Jones works with 11Alive News where he serves the station as an Evening Anchor for the 5, 6, and 11 PM News. He kick-started his television career in the year 1988 when he was working as an officer for the Oakland Police Department. Jones states that not only did he patrol the streets of Oakland as an officer but also featured in cable television commercials related to crime prevention.

Later on, he was given an opportunity to produce, write and host numerous crime prevention and public affairs show for the City of Oakland titled “Bay Area Crime Watch” and “OPD on TV.” These shows featured wanted people in Northern California and crime prevention tips.

He was later promoted to the role of sergeant and became the public information officer for OPD in 1994. Later on, after being inspired and mentored by KPIX reporter Sherri Hu, he left enforcement and was offered his first television news reporter job with CBS Affiliate, WDBJ located in Roanoke, Virginia. When he was there, he was quickly promoted to weekend news anchor and reporter.

The year 1996 saw his television talents bring him back to his Northern California roots. Then, he was working as a weekend anchor for KCRA for about seven years. In his tenure at KCRA, he also covered everything from crime to education in the central valley. The year 2001 saw him temporarily leave the news business to take care of his ailing parents.

Upon his return to the Bay Area in the year 2003 he joined the KPIX family in San Francisco as he co-anchored for the weekend morning show. The year 2004 saw him join CBS13 and later worked as the morning anchor and reporter. Asides from that, he is now part of the 11Alive News family as the “Up Late” anchor and visual storyteller.
