Ron Young Biography
Ron Young is an American meteorologist working for KTAL/KMSS as a weekend meteorologist. He joined the station after spending a few years in semi-retirement. Previously, he worked for KSLA News 12 This Morning as a meteorologist.
Ron Young Education
Young joined Texarkana College Community & Business Education Center when he finished his high school studies at Texarkana Arkansas High School. In 1967, he joined the University of Arkansas where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Communications. Between 1988 and 1990, he studied at Mississippi State University and later attained a Broadcast Meteorology certificate.

Young works for KTAL/KMSS as a weekend meteorologist. This is his second time working for the station. Between 1981 and 2000, he served the station as Chief Meteorologist. He then left the new industry after a company bought the station.
Young worked for Easter Seals of East Texas as a development director where he raised money for a rehabilitation establishment that gave treatment for disabled children. Also, he worked for Brook Army Medical Center as a Licensed Nurse and the Arkansas Department of Health as Director of Family Planning Services. In 2003, he received the offer to serve KSLA News 12 This Morning as a meteorologist, which he accepted. There, he also worked as a substitute anchor. He went into semi-retirement before joining KTAL.
