Ryan Moye Biography
Ryan Moye is an American Sports Journalist working for WFXR-TV in Roanoke, Virginia as the Weekend Sports Anchor and Reporter. He joined the WFXR News Team in March 2019 after working as a Sports Anchor and Multi-Skilled Journalist for KYTX CBS19.
Ryan Moye Education
Moye began his schooling at Georgetown Day School in 2006, which led him up to the level of High School Diploma. After that, he continued to the field of Journalism at Susquehanna University and he would work hard towards attaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree in the year 2010. Fueled by the desire to learn more about journalism, Moye looked for a new chapter and enrolled for a Master of Arts Degree in Journalism at DePaul University and completed the program in 2013.
DePaul helped him to improve his skills and expanded his vision of how media works and what kind of mission journalism has. After leaving Kankakee, he went to Chicago, the hub of life, and took up a job as a Digital Journalist at the Chicago Defender, a black newspaper. He was awarded for his efforts, having received an honorable mention from the National Association of Black Journalists Chicago Chapter in acknowledgment of his efforts.

Moye joined the WFXR News team in March 2019 as a Blacksburg sports bureau and weekend news multimedia journalist. In this role, Moye is expected to report on sports activities and produce content for the station. Before joining WFXR, Moye sharpened his reporting for four years in Tyler, Texas where he made his mark as a Sports Multi-Skilled storyteller and Anchor positions at KYTX CBS 19.
Before going to Tyle, Texas, Moye worked as a Digital Journalist for the Chicago Defender-An African American newspaper based in Chicago. He did not relent in his journalistic skill and as a result was awarded by the National Association of Black Journalists Chicago Chapter, given an esteemed award for the excellent work and effort he had displayed in the profession.
The career path that Moye has pursued has seen him transform into a versatile professional and successfully follow a broad spectrum of events related to sports and interact with top-of-the-line talents. Tyler witnessed him getting busy in the pulsating spirit of sporting events of East Texas especially high school football which is considered the pride and passion of the area.
Tyler was fortunate enough to witness Moye’s performance. One of the things that made him outstanding was his interview desk. Here he would get to interview some of the elites in the sporting arena including Patrick Mahomes II, Trent Williams, Dez Bryant, and Earl Campbell. Moye was also able to write about such specials as Super Bowl LI and Astros in the World Series.
