Ryan Stinnett Biography
Ryan Stinnett is an American meteorologist currently working for Alabama News Network. He serves as the weather authority meteorologist on ABC 32 on the weekday mornings news show which airs from 5-7 am on CBS 8 and ABC 32. Stinnett joined the Alabama News Network team in June 2014 and previously worked for The Weather Factory.

In 2014 joined ABC 32 News where before worked for The weather Factory giving daily weather data, and forecasts, and working for information for James Spann and his squad at ABC 33/40. He earned a certificate of Broadcast Meteorologist seal (CBM) from the American Meteorologist Society (AMS).
He was born and raised in Birmingham, he knows a little bit of serious weather. A 1998 F5 windstorm was fairly two miles to the west of his family’s home and a 2011 EF 4 was again fairly two miles to the east. Stinnett was different where he loved the weather and at a younger age, he knew he would become a meteorologist. In junior school, he was the only student who knew what the weather would be like that day and he shared it with friends and classmates.

Storms such as Cindy Dennis, KArleneatrina, and Rita provided him with first-hand accounts of the power of the storms and the demolition that follows them. In addition, while in South Alabama, Ryan traveled to the Great Plains for storm chasing.
Ryan worked in an exclusive sector, before choosing to go on and running after his master’s degree from Mississippi State University. While at Mississippi State, he was a 3-time National Champion Forecasting team member. Together with being a team champion, he moved on into a 64-person bracket of the top forecasters from the contest, and finally, he won the tournament championship. He knocked faculty and staff members from the University of Georgia, and Penn State, MIT, managing to be the top forecaster for the 2010-2011 school year. In the course at Mississippi State, any moment there was a serious weather outbreak, Stinnett and classmates would storm chase, including the deadly and destructive day of April 27, 2011.
During his leisure time, he finds cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide and South Alabama Jaguars as well as hanging out with friends, running, visiting the Northern Gulf Coast, traveling, and finding the best local BBQ. His best-loved thing to do is to look for a ridge top on summer nights and watch the lightning at distance thunderstorms. However, his big thrill is coming home every day to two excited and happy pugs, dogs, named Willie and Tyson.
