Previously, she spent two years working as an anchor and reporter at KPRC-TV in Houston, Texas. During her time there, Rayford covered major breaking news including government malfeasance, crime, and various interviews with prolific changemakers.
Before working in Houston, Sabirah worked at WPTV Newschannel 5 in West Palm Beach where she served as a reporter, anchor, and MMJ. While there, she was in charge of covering local government, social justice issues, and racial justice. Her remarkable story is about the Black Lives Matter movement which earned her national attention. In 2019, she was honored by the University of Kentucky with the Lyman T. Johnson Torch of Excellence Award.
Sabirah began her journalism career at WKYT-TV as a digital producer, reporter, and fill-in anchor. While there, she became the first college student to work at WKYT from October 2015 to November 2017. Before that, Rayford served as a student reporter at ESPNU Campus Connection from October 2014 to October 2015. In addition, she is also a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
