Samantha Davies is an American meteorologist and traffic reporter working for NBC 5 News in Dallas/ Ft. Worth. She joined the station in February 2009.

After graduating from high school and earning her High School Diploma, she had to further her education. She joined the State University of New York College at Oneonta to pursue her career course. After finishing her studies there, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 2004.

Davies is a meteorologist and traffic reporter serving at NBC 5 News. She covers traffic on NBC 5 Today from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. In addition to that, she forecasts for NBC 5 News at 11 a.m. Prior to joining the NBC 5 News team, she worked for NBC Weather Plus and MSNBC as a meteorologist providing national forecasts. Furthermore, she appeared on CNBC, Early Today, The Today Show, and Nightly News. Furthermore, she forecasted international weather for Squawk Australia, on CNBC World serving as the morning meteorologist.

Her experience includes working for WSIL-TV in the Cape Girardeau, MO-Paducah, KY-Harrisburg, IL market, WBAL-TV in Baltimore, MD, and WKAG-TV in Hopkinsville, KY. Davies also provides science and entertainment reporting in addition to weekly forecasts. In March 2007, she earned her AMS-CBM Television Seal of approval. In addition, she is a member of the National Weather Association.

She developed her love and passion for weather at a very young age. Growing up in Rochester, NY where an average winter could result in over 90″ of snow helped her. In the summer of 1992, that passion further developed. It was the year of one of Florida’s most devastating hurricanes, Hurricane Andrew. She witnessed the aftermath of the hurricane, where she saw the damage and devastation left behind by that powerful storm.
