Samantha Mohr is an American Meteorologist/Television Personality/Beauty Pageant working with 11Alive News in Atlanta Georgia, where he serves the station as a Weather forecaster. He is originally from Columbus, Georgia where he was born and raised.
Samantha Mohr Education
She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 1985. Samantha graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and a minor in audiology. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast meteorology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, in 1989.

Mohr works with 11Alive News where he serves the station as a Weather forecaster. He was crowned Miss Georgia in the year 1985 and also competed for the Miss America 1986 title. Asides from this, she is an on-air talent at WXIA-TV in Atlanta. After being crowned, Miss Georgia in the year 1985, he used her scholarship winnings to study meteorology in Houston where she was interning for FOX TV station KRIV.
Later on, from there, she went on to join KTVK/Phoenix in 1989. There, she was a morning meteorologist for Good Morning Arizona. Later on, after a number of years in the desert, San Francisco’s CBS O&O KPIX hired her as a Chief Meteorologist. There, she served between the years 2001 and 2007.
After moving from the Bay area, she made a return to Georgia to The Weather Channel in 2007 on Weekend View. There, she co-hosted with Dao Vu and Bill Keneely. After this, her next stop was CNN International. There she spent about two years working between the years 2013 and 2015. While there, she provided weather coverage for Weekend Express on HLN. From the month of June 2015, she has been providing weekend weather for “WXIA-TV/11Alive” in Atlanta as part of the “11 Alive StormTracker” team.
After entering her first pageant at the suggestion of a fellow UGA student, she won the Miss Columbus title in the year 1985. It is this win that made her eligible to enter the Miss Georgia pageant in the month of June 1985. Asides from this, she won the competition on Saturday 22nd June 1985. Asides from this, she earned more than $3,500 in scholarship money among other prizes from the state pageant.
Working as Miss Georgia, her activities included public appearances across the state of Georgia. She was Georgia’s representative at the Miss America 1986 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey in the month of September 1985. In computing modeling which successfully predicted that Susan Akin would be named Miss America, her odds were set at 22 to 1. She was not a Top-10 finalist for the national crown. Her reign as Miss Georgia lasted until she crowned her successor, Marlesa Ball, as Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28, 1986.
