Sawyer Avery Spielberg is an American actor and film director who is known for starring in films such as Masters of the Air (2024), Merry Good Enough (2023), and Honeydew (2020). He is also famous for being the son of the former actress Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg, a film director and producer.

Spielberg finished his schooling at a private high school in his hometown. As a teenager, he attended Edgemar Center in Santa Monica, California where he learned how to act.

Spielberg began his career as a youngster when he appeared on his father’s film sets where he served as a production assistant. As a production assistant, he helped on films such as The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Indiana Jones. Sawyer appeared on his first debut in 2012 when he was featured in the Belgrade Trilogy film at the 4th Street Theatre. After that, he starred at the Guild Hall of East Hampton Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, New York where he was cast in The Diary of Anne Frank.

In 2014, Spielberg was cast in the main role in Neil Simon’s Biloxi Blues films where he also directed the film. Two years later, he directed a short film called Breathe and in 2017 he appeared in the film titled The Post. His breakthrough came when he starred in a horror film Honeydew where he played the main role alongside Lena Dunham.

Sawyer has also appeared alongside co-star Holt McCallany in the independent film Martyr of Gowanus in 2023 as well as starred in a Christmas movie Merry Good Enough. That same year, he also starred in the short thriller film Pink Flags where he played opposite his wife Raye Levine Spielberg. In 2024, he was cast in a drama series Masters of the Air and he is expected to appear alongside Michael Cera in an upcoming film called Christmas Eve.
