Scott McDonnell is an American anchor and reporter working for 12 News (KPNX-TV) where he anchors Today in AZ. He joined the station in November 2021. Before that he worked as a weekend anchor and reporter for Boston 25 News.

McDonnell was the weekend anchor and reporter and reporter for Boston 25 News team from 2019 October to November 2021 before joining the KPNX 12 news team. Prior to landing an opportunity at Boston 25, he worked as a news anchor at WTNH-TV, the ABC affiliate in Connecticut where he hosted the 6 p.m. news. Impressively he was at the helm during nor’easters, flew with the coast guard in search of Nathan Carman and his mother, and rode along with WWII and Korean war veterans to the memorials in Washington D.C. for several Honor Flights.
Before that, he served at KMBC-TV as a reporter and anchor in Kansas City and Orlando where he covered everything from tornadoes to tropical storms and hurricanes. In 2012 Scott happened to be in Florida during the Presidential election and he followed candidates up and down the sunshine state. He was among the first few reporters who covered the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
